Mr. Lif is not only out on the East Coast for a handful of tour dates but has just finished the 'I Heard It Today' Record...

Words from the man himself;

I am proud to announce that I have just finished my album. The development of this project was an amazing adventure, and I hope you'll find that it takes you all to some interesting places when you hear it.

As some of you know, the album is titled "I Heard It Today", and it's dedicated to capturing the pulse of this tumultuous era we're living through. I got to work with some amazingly talented people on this record. Let me try to run down the list now (of course, inevitably forgetting someone I will kick myself for not including). Willie Evans Jr., Edan, J Zone, Batsauce, P Locke, Headnodic, Bahamadia, Dumbtron, and Vinnie Paz. On the mixing boards I was lucky enough to have the services of Joey Raia, and Belief, with my man Amdex handling mastering. My homie Dan Lang provides the raw visuals aka artwork for each single and for the album, and I definitely can't forget my homegirl Invincible who came through with solid insight and advice throughout the creation of the album.

There will be lots more info about the experience of making this record in this liner notes within the album artwork, but I just want to say a quick public thanks to all those I mentioned as well as all of you who were kind enough to contribute your thoughts to the discussions in my blogs. Those great conversations had positive impact on the outcome of this project whether we agreed or disagreed, and I look forward to future exchanges.

The release date is still set for Inauguration Day (Jan 20th 2009), and I hope you will all support this effort.

To tide you over, a single titled "Welcome to the World" will be released on Election Day (Nov 4th). As usual, you'll be able to listen to it here on my page and click the artwork to buy it on itunes.

I am doing a short run of shows from Nov 1st - Nov 6th (check my page for cities and venues). If the singles aren't enough to keep you fed til album time, I proudly announce that I will have "Sleepyheads 3" in limited quantity for sale directly from me at these shows. The disk contains 13 tracks of rare and unreleased cuts that I assembled for your listening pleasure.

Lastly, I would like to announce that I will be performing brand new songs from the "I Heard It Today" album, so if you want to be amongst the first to see live renditions, find a way to make it to one of these 6 shows.

Thanks again!

-Lif

True indeed. Real change starts with you as an individual. REGARDLESS of who wins.

Will continue to be a fan and a supporter.
